Defense Shines in Wrangler 3-2 Win Over WTC

Cisco's relentless defense was on full display as the Wranglers' defeated Western Texas College 3-2 on Tuesday night in Cisco.

Cisco tallied 94 team digs by the completion of the match. Arriaga, who finished the night as Cisco's leader in digs, tallied 27 digs in total. Griffin followed closely behind with a total of 20 digs for the night.

The offense helped solidify the win by attacking at a .340 hitting percentage. After falling short the first two sets, the Wranglers fought back and won the final 3 sets securing their win.

Jenna Griffin, one of the appointed team captains and defensive specialists, spoke on the preparation the team underwent in attempts to better their performance against the opposing WTC squad. "We have focused a lot on our team culture for this season, and over the last week we have really worked on staying locked in and just keeping the ball of the floor."

The Wranglers are gearing up and preparing to hit the road, to battle tough opponents in the NCTC Invitational September 8th and 9th.
