Volleyball Prepares for Upcoming Season

Volleyball season is approaching and coaches Jon Stenman and Lexi Torres are getting their team ready to face first opponent Wharton County Junior College.

Coach Stenman said, "I really like the mindset of this team so far. They seem to be connecting as a unit far faster than in previous years. Players are comfortable being themselves and it is showing in their play early on."

Coach Stenman talked about his top returners and including incoming Freshman to watch out for. "We should get contributions from all our returners, especially Outside Hitter Peyton Warren who was 2nd Team All-Conference last season and Defensive Specialist Cassie Esquivel who seems poised to take over the Libero jersey" said Stenman. "We have a great group of versatile freshmen this year; many of who can play multiple positions. We are going to have a great battle in the middle hitter position as Brooklynn Burnside, Ja'Mya Williams, Bailey Howton and Abby Quinones battle for the two spots."

Stenman also touches on some challenges they will face this year, "This will be the smallest team that I have had in my 3 seasons here at Cisco.  Keeping everyone healthy physically and mentally will be paramount in achieving our goals this season." said Stenman.

The Wranglers will start off season on Friday, August 19th at Coastal Bend College.
