3 Wranglers Earn All Tournament Honors

The Wrangler volleyball squad looks forward to conference play this week after returning from a strong weekend at the Cowley College Invitational. The Wranglers opened the weekend with Central Community College of Nebraska, winning in three straight sets. Several players had impressive numbers offensively: Bethany Jones .200, Alicia Hamm .217, Kaitlyn Stork .333 and Heaven Dunn .429. Defensively, the team finished the game with 83 total digs and 9 blocks. 

On the second day of the tournament, the Wranglers beat Carl Sandburg College in three straight sets after battling back from 11-21in the first set. This win was a full team effort, the Wranglers ending the match with a .232 hitting percentage (48-15-142). Defensively, the team was just one dig shy of matching a program high of 89 digs in a three set win in 2019. The weekend ended with a 4 set loss to Cowley College, the host of the tournament. 

Three Wranglers earned All Tournament Honors for their performances over the weekend: sophomores Ambree Anderle, Emily Larmeu and freshman Peyton Warren. Emily also earned NTJCAC Offensive Player of the Week, after finishing the week with 193 assists, 63 digs, 12 block assists, 2 solo blocks, and five kills. She also posted double doubles (assists and digs) over all five matches played last week. 

Wrangler Volleyball is on the road all week with two conference and one non-conference matchups. Losing in 5 to Temple last night, the Wranglers will face Ranger Thursday night before traveling to Snyder to face Western Texas College.
