Wranglers split with #5 ranked Grayson College

Wranglers split with #5 ranked Grayson College

The Wranglers had an interesting start to conference play this week. They traveled to Denison, TX Tuesday afternoon to play at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm but the lightning kept delaying the games and were canceled. Cisco had to travel back the next day and played at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, where they split with the #5 team in the nation.

The Wranglers got an early lead in the top of the first inning with a sacrifice bunt by Mikaela Salinas scoring one. They held the Vikings all seven innings and won, 1-0. Pitching was strong on both sides but Akaysia Grogan earned the win for Cisco. Allowing one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking two.

Harley Staton, Natalie Pinon, Hannah Love, Julia Saucedo, Kassidy Bradshaw, and Salinas each collected a hit for Cisco.

The Wranglers started strong again, scoring 2 in the top of the first inning. Grayson committed an error, and Kassidy Bradshaw hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Kassidy Bradshaw went 1-for-2 at the plate and both her and Mia Wimmer had an RBI. Unfortunately, the Wranglers fell 9-3 but will have the chance to get two on Friday, March 8th in Clyde, TX at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
