Wrangler finish up 2-3 over the weekend

Friday - 2/16/24

Game 1 - vs Western Nebraska CC

The Wranglers easily dispatched Western Nebraska 10-1, starting in the first inning when Mia Wimmer singled, scoring one run. Harley Staton earned the win for the Wranglers. She gave up zero hits and one run over five innings, striking out six. Wimmer, Staton, Katlyn Conklin, Lillian Watson, Bethany Gonzalez, and Alyssa Brister each collected one hit. Brister also stole two bases. 

 

Game 2- vs Odessa College

Cisco fell 13-10 against Odessa in a back-and-forth game. The Wranglers grabbed the lead 3-2, in the top of the third after Taylor Ramirez singled and Alyssa Brister scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Hannah Love homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Mia Wimmer singled, scoring one run in the top of the fourth. Ramirez then homered in the sixth scoring two runs in the top of the sixth and Kalee Aguilar-Luna also scored two runs with a home run, in the top of the seventh. Akaysia grogan struck out seven and the Wranglers collected 10 hits, but it just wasn't enough to secure the win. 

 

Saturday - 2/17/24

Game 1- vs Luna CC

Kassidy Bradshaw cut the score in half in the top of the second inning with a home run on the sixth pitch of the at bat. Alyssa Brister hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth. The Wranglers fell two runs short, losing 5-3.

 

Game 2- vs Coastal Bend College 

The Wranglers were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Harley Staton singled, scoring one run. Staton continued in the bottom of the third when she doubled, scoring two runs, to give Cisco the lead, 3-1. Julia Saucedo had a solo homerun to center field in the bottom of the fourth. Staton, Hannah Love, and Saucedo each collected two hits out of the 11 hits the Wranglers had, but again fell short one run, losing 7-6. 

 

Sunday - 2/18/24

Vs Otero College

The Wranglers secured the 5-3 win on Sunday at home against Otero College. Cisco built a 5-run lead in the second inning. Taylor Ramirez singled, and Mikaela Salinas doubled, each scoring one run. In the second inning Ramirez and Harley Staton each had an RBI double. Akaysia Grogan earned the win for Cisco, surrendering eight hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none. Natalie Pinon and Colbi Goodwin each had two stolen bases.
