Despite Strong Fight, Cisco College Wranglers Can't Top Ranger College

Cisco College Wranglers's effort to come back from down seven runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 9-7 to Ranger College on Monday. Cisco College Wranglers scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a stolen base by Shayla Hopkins, a double by Ashley Vinton, a single by Bailey Buck, and a double by Sara Papizan.

Despite the loss, Cisco College Wranglers did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Ranger College had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Ranger College got things moving in the first inning, when Everly Carey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Cisco College Wranglers knotted the game up at seven in the bottom of the second inning, when Papizan doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Ranger College pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Heather Wineman induced Carey to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Cisco College Wranglers tallied seven runs in the second inning. The rally was led by doubles by Vinton and Papizan, a walk by Kadee Luna, and a single by Buck.

Monique Montes got the win for Ranger College. The righthander allowed five hits and zero runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

Noeli Quinones started the game for Ranger College. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five hits and seven runs Michelle Soules started the game for Cisco College WranglersSoules lasted one inning, allowing seven hits and seven runs while walking one, receiving the loss.

Cisco College Wranglers racked up ten hits in the game. Alyssa HickmanPeyton VasquezPapizan, and Vinton all managed multiple hits for Cisco College WranglersHickman went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Cisco College Wranglers in hits.

Ranger College had 12 hits in the game. Macie ReevesCarey, and Mariah Mayuga each racked up multiple hits for Ranger College. Reeves led Ranger College with three hits in four at bats.
