Game 1:
Strong Offense Not Enough To Secure Win For Cisco College Softball Over Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity
Both pitching staffs had their hands full on Wednesday in a high-scoring affair where Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity bested Cisco College Softball, 16-8.
The Cisco College Softball struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity, giving up 16 runs.
In the first inning, Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity got their offense started when Kyla Snow's sac fly scored one run for Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity.
Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Courtney Vidrine grounded out, scoring one run.

Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity Defeats Resilient Cisco College Softball
Despite an 8-run deficit in the fourth inning, Cisco College Softball almost came all the way back, eventually falling 15-14 to Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity on Wednesday.Cisco College Softball put up seven runs in the failed comeback. Everly Carey, Ileano Ortega,Sarah Welsh, Lauren Guerrero, and Yamilex Valdez fueled the rally with RBIs.
Cisco College Softball fell behind early in the loss. Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity scored on a home run by Pal Egan in the first inning, a home run by Trinity Castillo in the second inning, a single by Cassandra Lopez in the second inning, a walk by Monet Milligan in the second inning, a single by Kyla Snow in the second inning, a walk by Lexi Gonzalez in the second inning, and a single by Lopez in the second inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity tied things up at two.Egan drove in two when she homered.
Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity pulled away for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Castillo hit a solo homer, Lopez singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Milligan drew a walk, scoring one run, Snow singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Gonzalez drew a walk, scoring one run, and Lopez singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Cisco College Softball notched five runs in the seventh inning. Cisco College Softball put the pressure on, lead by walks by Welsh and Valdez and a triple by Guerrero.
Alyssa DeLaGarza took the win for Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity. She surrendered eight runs on five hits over five and a third innings, striking out two. Destinee Ureathrew one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Allison Wilson took the loss for Cisco College Softball. She allowed seven hits and nine runs over one and two-thirds innings.
Nicole Pinney started the game for Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity. She surrendered six runs on five hits over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one
Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Castillo went for the long ball in the second inning. Egan had a long ball in the first inning.
Cisco College Softball totaled ten hits. Destiny De Leon, Carey, and Guerrero each racked up multiple hits for Cisco College Softball. De Leon led Cisco College Softball with three hits in five at bats. Cisco College Softball didn't commit a single error in the field. Taylor Epperson had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity had 14 hits in the game. Lopez, Egan, Milligan, and Castillo each managed multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparrals Varsity.
