The Cisco Wranglers Women's Soccer team took the field for the first official game of the season against the defending NJCAA Division 3 National Champions, Brookhaven Bears. Cisco would strike first in the match but ultimately would come up short, 2-1. 

"It was a huge battle," Coach McGibeny said, "They are a great team with a ton of success over the past few years and our group was certainly tested by their organization and intensity. We didn't play at our best and to know we can play much better but still have a chance to go ahead early and win the game is very promising for what we can accomplish this year." 

The Wranglers started a squad that saw 7 of the starting 11 as freshmen seeing their first official game of their collegiate careers. One of those was the lone goalscorer for the Wranglers, Marcelle Stoller who was assisted by Sophomore Isabel Carreon. 

Cisco will now set their attention to their next match up with the Eastfield Harvester Bees set for Friday, August 30th at 3:00 PM in Mesquite, Tx.
