Joel Prickett is entering his 21st year as a head coach and 26th year overall as a junior college coach. His coaching career started at Cisco College under Coach Chuck Lawrence and Coach Susan Moore in the fall of 1996.
Prior to joining Cisco College, Prickett served as the Head Softball Coach at Odessa College from 2004 – 2016.
He brings a career record of 675-519 with a 512-260 record at Odessa College. He won 6 Region V West coach of the year awards and 6 Region V West titles. In his six appearances at the National tournament he finished in the top 10 five times and in the top 5 three times, with a 3rd place finish in 2005.
Coach Prickett is responsible for the recruiting and development of 30+ division 1 transfers and over 50+ division 2 transfers. He has a team GPA of a 3.15 over his head coaching career as well as over 100 all conference players, 60+ all Region players and 15 All-Americans.
He is a native to Cisco, Texas and is the son of the late Bob and Beth Prickett and “Adopted” son of the late Bruce Speegle. He is a 1992 graduate of Cisco High School, 1994 Graduate of Cisco College and has a Bachelors in Exercise Sports Studies from Tarleton State. He is a God-fearing Christian and has volunteered in the college ministry at Mid-Cities Church in Midland, Texas.
